A store was decided on and Traveler Emporium’s first brick and mortar were established in Tallahassee
Traveler emporium was started as a part-time business more for fun than anything doing strictly fiber art back in 2015 by the original owner’s Matt and Daniella. The store in 2018 lasted for around 6 months and was eventually shut down after 6 months when Matt and Daniella decided to go different ways. Daniella moved back to Jacksonville in late 2018 and continued to run Traveler emporium as a popup-only business.
In mid-2019 Daniella and David (Current owners) met and shared a similar business interest and decided to join forces and build together. Daniella went full-time with the business in October 2019 and David quit his full-time job in March of 2020 to go full-time with Traveler Emporium.
During The Pandemic
When Covid shut everything down a few weeks later everything was very scary for a while. We weren’t sure when the next event was going to be or how to connect with people to sell products so we resorted to selling through our Instagram account and luckily, we had already built up a following so they helped keep us afloat by buying Daniella’s wire wrapped jewelry.
In June of 2020 events started coming back and we were hungry to become known. We decided to become legal again and became an established S-Corp.
First Break to Grand Opening
We got our first big break when Mark with 8103 clothing started hosting the 904 Popup Events in June 2020. Our second break was in August 2020 when we finally got accepted to the Riverside Arts Market after applying for almost 3 years. In February 2021 we partnered with Body and Soul to have a permanent booth inside their store in Brunswick GA.
On October 1st, 2021 we had the grand opening of our in-store location with the Body and Souls riverside branch.It’s been a lot of work but we couldn’t be happier making connections with the people of Jacksonville. Seeing our regular customers come back every week is one of the most rewarding feelings we could ever have.
Today we currently have 2 mobile booths, and 2 in-store locations.
The thing that sets us apart from others is our willingness to work ourselves hard. what we can’t beat a crystal store in the selection, we can beat them in price and customer service through and through.
